Despite Barbie being a huge success, making an impressive 1.4 billion USD at the box office, and currently standing as Warner Bros’ highest-grossing picture of all time, Margot Robbie has no plans for a sequel.

In an interview with the Associated Press on November 16, Margot Robbie told the interviewer after asking about any possibility of a sequel, “I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something”.

“It’s really important that Barbie did well,” Robbie shared as she continued to answer what the future for Barbie holds. She smiles as she shares her contentment with what was created and what this means for the future of filmmaking.

Margot Robbie is both the lead actress and producer of ‘Barbie’ and was involved in making the movie. In an interview with Teen Vogue, Robbie shares how initially she had no plans to take on a role for the film and planned on working behind the scenes solely as a producer. However, as things developed, Director Greta Gerwig expressed her interest in having Margot Robbie play Barbie and Ryan Gosling play Ken.

Currently, the possibility of a sequel to ‘Barbie’ is low. Whether or not the film ever expands, the film alone managed to accomplish a lot and break new records.
